It's pretty tough to find a green detergent for our dishwashers that's friendly enough for our homes and the planet but tough enough to kill germs. We find that most green dish washing detergents leave white marks, or simply don't clean our dishes at all, leaving us feeling pretty down in the dumps.

Sun and Earth have created an eco-friendly, affordable dishwasher nugget that's strong enough to clean even our dirtiest of dishes. This product is safe for kids (hey, maybe they can do the dishes now with no excuse!) and was formulated to clean those greasy, tough spots on our favorite casserole dish. It gets better – they are 100% biodegradable and work well with septic tanks. With all these positives, and not a single negative [it got great reviews] why not take the step? This product even boosts that it's safe to use on baby bottles. Perfect for the person who's looking to reduce emissions.

We green our homes. We use all natural cleaning products, and promise ourselves we will only feed our kids organic mac and cheese. We drive hybrid cars, and we even compost. At the end of the day we take our sore, work ridden bodies into the shower and we wash them with chemicals.

Wait...back up!
Look in your shower. Do you use whatever's on sale? Or a fancy name brand that has that slight chemical smell but promises that you'll feel and look younger? These products are all the same, and they contain harmful ingredients for both our homes, and bodies. Don't you want to continue living in an eco-friendly way no matter what room of the house you're in. If you're in the market for a healthy alternative to your body scrub, check out Beautiful Soap and company. Scents that use only organic materials like mango poppy, and green tea in lime can't be too bad. They use all natural, all vegan, creutly free ingredients to provide you with the healthiest scrub you can get your hands on.

Teen Vogue says recycle!

Reusable bags are all the rage, and you can't seem to step out or your home without seeing a plethora of designs. The canvas bag that tells you you better go green, or the fancy designer bag that looks like it couldn't hold an orange, but will cost you an arm and a leg. These bags do mean well, but it is our pleasure to announce to you a fantastic company that sells durable, fun bags in packs of three, AND six so running out isn't an option.

We all know that reusable bags are important; the amount of plastic, and paper that adds up from shopping bags alone is astronomical, and it's time to put a stop to it. States are going to begin to ban paper and plastic soon, so it's time to start stocking up on bags to take with you when you head out to the market. What do you want in a reusable bag? Durability is the number one thing many consumers asked for, and something that isn't too shabby looking is nice too. Baguu shopping totes can hold up a ton of groceries, and if you purchase a pack of six you can fit an entire carts worth using only their reusable totes. They come in a slew of bright, fun colors and are durable and promised to last a life time. Each bag can hold twenty five pounds, and features a flat bottom so your eggs, and bread can rest safely without tipping over. Cut down on bags. When you and your family bring home an average of 1500 bags per year, doesn't it make sense to bring that number down to SIX? We think so.

Who wants to be the owner of one of those bulky vacuum cleaners that take up entirely too much...

Who wants to be the owner of one of those bulky vacuum cleaners that take up entirely too much space, and suck up [no pun intended] a whole lot of energy too? Not me, and apparently a whole slew of people have the same idea since a fantastic new product is available that is three times less the size of a regular vacuum and cleaner and made of recycled materials.

Try saying Bissell 14007 Little Green Multi-Purpose Compact Earth-Friendly Deep Cleaner

three times fast. Bet you can't – heck we couldn't. It doesn't matter though, because this mean, green machine can clean up spills and stains large, or small and using less energy then one of the regular vacuums you lug, out, and plug in. A ninety five percent reduction on energy? You got it. A machine that's made ENTIRELY of recycled parts? Absolutely! Small enough to fit in the top shelf of your closet? Uh huh! It almost sounds too good to be true, and it is. Because this product is small in size, you also have the advantage of using it to reach those hard to get spots that collect dust and grime. You can use your Little Green product on anything; the carpet, the floor, you name it this sucker will clean it. Why not start small (literally) and work on making your home more eco-friendly, and ditching the energy sucking, space wasters.

Don't waste water, time it!

Anyone who's got a garden understands the importance of watering; our plants need a good supply of...

Anyone who's got a garden understands the importance of watering; our plants need a good supply of H20 to thrive, and we need to provide it if mother nature is having an off day. Since the majority of people in this country work full time, rushing home to give our flowers, plants, and fruit trees a drink isn't an option (if we want to keep our jobs) Running a sprinkler system is a fine idea, but it isn't very eco-friendly since these tend depend on humans to shut them off, and on. When was the last time you forgot the sprinkler was running and came out to a soggy lawn and even soggier garden?

For someone who's got a garden, but doesn't have time time to stand and monitor water use with a sprinkler system we recommend getting a garden timer. Much like a kitchen timer you set it to when you want to have your yard or garden watered, and let the timer do the rest! This sort of item is perfect if you're going away on a trip, and don't want to worry about pestering someone to come and water your lawn (and lets face it, they will probably forget...) You won't need to worry about wasting water either; on a restriction? Set it in to the timer! Only need a quick rinse? Tell it to the timer! You would be surprised to know the amount of water that gets wasted on...watering. We can put a stop to this, and cut our water uses down dramatically by using a garden timer! Setting your timer for the early morning, or evening when the soil is at it's prime for absorbing water will also cut down on your use.

Ever think about becoming a farmer?

A worm farmer, that is...

A worm farmer, that is...

The truth is, kids dig worms. As adults we may find these creatures creepy, and best left out in the yard, but kids aren't afraid to get down, and dirty with bugs, and other creepy crawlers. Did you know that worms have the power to turn our garbage into healthy, nutrient rich compost soil for our gardens? They can do this naturally in nature, but one quick way to get yourself some of this wonderful compost is to purchase a worm farm.

This warm factory farm helps create a safe, non smelly, educational farm sanctuary for worms. Housing over ten thousand worms, you will be able to compost up to five pounds a food a day, providing you with a quick, rich soil for your garden. Your kids will have a blast learning more about the environment, and keeping track of how compost is formed, using nature, and worms. You don't need to display your worm farm directly in the kitchen, and a basement, or back room works just fine. If you enjoy fishing, you'll have the perfect supply of worms to catch a huge trout for dinner! The worm factory farm is easy to use, and contains several trays that will provide you with a pounds upon pounds of compost. Save the earth, and grow yourself some worms!

Charge your batteries with the sun!

Who doesn't like the idea of a battery charger? A one time purchase of batteries that will last forever? Count me in, especially since most of today's toys run on batteries, and we certainly don't want our kids to run out of their singing, tickling, giggling doll any time soon. Thanks to the green movement, manufactures are working hard to bring us items that are as green as they get, and this solar powered battery charger is one of them.

Using the suns rays to charge our batteries is ingenious. Using green technology this little fella is designed to get the maximum amount of sunlight to keep any sized battery charged. Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? It's also weather resistant, meaning if you leave it in the rain because you simply forgot about it, no sweat! I'll work just as well the next sunny day. Designed for portability, this solar battery charger can travel with you on vacation, or to a family function; you no longer have to worry about running out of batteries! You also have the luxury of plugging in other items to this charger, and we like to think that's a good thing. It's a huge step when items like this come, that use the suns rays to power are every day items. Get one step ahead with the green movement, and pick one up for your family.

Babies, and toddlers poop. They poop when we least expect it, and they poop when we do, and it's nice to get rid of it as quickly as possible, with as little smell as possible. If you're a new parent, you probably have one of those trusty diaper removal systems, and those are in theory fine and dandy, but they aren't very eco friendly, and they certainly weren't built with our planet in mind.

If you want to keep the smell in, but the green out consider picking up a box of Classy Kids biodegradable diaper sacks. These green (literally, they are green) sacks are biodegradable, and are created to keep air born illness, and stinkiness out, and eco living in. You can toss these into your regular garbage, and know that they will biodegradable in months, not decades, and will keep your garbage stink free. For the price of one diaper system, you can purchase a dozen boxes of these bags, and know that you're making a dent in the planets well being in the mean time, so what's stopping you?

Painting your baby green

As adults, being green is something we strive for. If you are lucky enough to have children that are young we can raise them to be earth friendly from the bat. One way to do that? By using "green" diapers. Today Pampers, and Huggies rule the school as far as diapering our toddlers goes; they offer coupons, discounts, and pretty patterns on diapers to entice consumers to purchase them, and we fall for it. Kids pee, and poo quite a bit, and when purchasing a diaper there's one thing that appeals to parents the most: the cost.

Seventh Generation diapers are the best choice, hands down for greening your toddler. Their diapers are choline free, which reduces the risk of cancers later in life, and nasty diaper rashes. These diapers are also created to provide maximum absorbency, which is a plus for those nights when your kid sleeps a full twelve hours, and manges to do so without a midnight diaper change. These diapers are not only kid-friendly, they are earth friendly and are 100% biodegradable. With all this information in your pocket, why go back to using boring old Pampers?
